Where are you located?
- We are located at Suite 200, 278 – 19th St NE. Look for the Central Web sign from the street, and once you see the building, you will see the ISMS sign.
Which First Aid program do you offer?
- All of our First Aid instructors are Red Cross certified.
What is the difference between CPR-C and CPR-HCP?
- CPR-C is a course on how to provide CPR on adults, children, and babies.
- CPR-HPC is a CPR course for Health Care Providers (Physicians, Nurses, EMRs, EMTs, Paramedics, Dentists, Dental Hygienists, Dental Assistants, Optometrists, and Allied Health Care Providers – RTs, OTs, and PTs).
- CPR-HCP includes all the material provided in CPR-C, as well as more information that Health Care Providers are REQUIRED to know.
What is your cancellation/refund policy?
- If you cancel up to 48 hours before the course, you are given a full refund of the course. If you cancel within the 48 hours before the course, you are not eligible for a refund, but you may re-book the course. If you cancel after the course has already begun or you miss the course, you are not eligible for a refund or re-booking.
What is OSSA regional Orientation and why do I need it?
- OSSA (Oil Sands Safety Association) Regional Orientation is a short overview and introduction to the oil sands safety. The four OSSA member companies (Shell, CNRL, Syncrude, and Suncor) require anyone who enters their worksites to have an OSSA Regional Orientation Credential. Upon completion of this course, you will be issued an OSSA Regional Orientation Credential which will give you access to the worksites.
What materials do I need to bring to my First Aid course?
- For First Aid (CPR, EFA, and SFA) courses, your material will be provided for you. However, feel free to bring paper and a pencil to take notes.
What materials do I need to bring to my H2S Alive course?
- For an H2S Alive course, you will need to bring photo ID and a smile.
Can I challenge the Standard First Aid/Emergency First Aid/CPR/Recertification exam?
- No. Too much to the course is practical for a challenge to be accepted.
Can I re-certify my expired H2S certificate, or challenge the exam?
- No. A new H2S course has been created and there is no current option to challenge the exam or recertify an existing certificate, as per Enform’s policy.
What is the minimum required mark to pass a course?
- 70% is required to pass H2S Alive. 75% is required to pass First Aid. 80% is required to pass most online training courses that have a final exam.
Do you offer OSSA Fall Protection Training at your central location?
- Yes, we offer Fall Protection training for groups of 10 or more.
What time does my course start?
- If you are taking an H2S course, the course begins at 8:00 AM. If you are taking a First Aid course, the course begins at 9:00 AM. It is always best to show up 10 or 15 minutes early for your course.
Can I re-certify my Standard First Aid if my certificate has expired?
- No. You must have a valid SFA certificate to be able to recertify. If your card has expired, you will need to take a full SFA course.
I have my Standard First Aid through St. John’s Ambulance. Can I re-certify with ISMS’s Red Cross course?
How long is my course?
- H2S Alive is an 8 hour course
- Standard First Aid is a two day course, 7-8 hours on both days.
- Emergency First Aid is an 6.5-8 hour course
- CPR is a 4-6 hour course (depending on the level you are taking)
- First Aid Recertification is an 7-8 hour course
Does ISMS do anything other than training?
- Yes! We are a one-stop-shop safety company. We offer:

I lost my H2S certificate. Can you provide me with a new one?
- No, we cannot. Enform deals with all H2S certificates. If you require a new one, you can contact them at (403) 516-8000 or you can phone toll free at 1 (800) 667-5557.
I lost my First Aid certificate. Can you provide me with a new one?
- Yes, we can, provided you took the training with us. A new First Aid certificate will cost $30.
How can I register for a course?
The majority of our registration is done online. At the top of our home page, there is an orange button that says “Register for Training Now.” Click that button, scroll though the calendar, and select the course date that works best for you. Once you click on the course, you will be walked through the registration process. If you would like to pay with cash or debit, give us a call.
Do you offer private, group training?
- Yes, we do. Call to inquire about availability and pricing.
When do you offer OSSA Regional Orientation?
- We offer OSSA Regional Orientation during the day between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Since the course is under 1 hour long, just call ahead to let us know you are coming so we can have it set up for you.
When are your courses offered?
- We offer H2S every Tuesday and Friday, Standard First Aid every Wednesday-Thursday and Saturday-Sunday, and CPR, Emergency First Aid, and First Aid Recertification every Wednesday and Saturday.
Will my Standard First Aid Certificate be good nationwide?
- With the exception of BC and Quebec, yes. For BC first aid, you need an Out of Province Jurisdiction First Aid package, which we can provide for an additional $40.00 at the end of your Standard First Aid course. As for Quebec, to be certified in Quebec, you have to take a course in Quebec.
I am a health care professional. Do I have to take the Heart and Stoke Basic Life Support (BLS), or can I take the Red Cross CPR-HCP course?
The only reason you will HAVE TO have Heart and Stroke BLS is if you are going for your Advanced Cardiac Life-Support Training (ACLS), or if your employer specifies that that is the course you need.
How many training locations do you have?
- We train at our Central Location, at 278 – 19th St NE. However, for private courses, we offer on-site training.
Do your Standard First Aid/Emergency First Aid/CPR/Recertification courses come with AED training?
- Yes. Can I do my online training at home, or do I have to come to your office? You are free to do your online training in the comfort of your own home!
What is the difference between H2S online training and H2S Alive?
- The online training program is an awareness course that teaches basic information about H2S. H2S Alive is a hands-on, in-depth course that gives a more well-rounded understanding of H2S. H2S Alive is the REQUIRED course.
Can I take Standard First Aid online?
- No. There is a very important, practical component to the course. However, in the USA, there is a blended course option available (online and in-class). This is not yet available in Canada.
What does AED stand for?
- Automated External Defibrillator
I need CPR-A. Do you offer that course?
- Not specifically, but CPR-C includes everything you would learn in a CPR-A course.
I need Child Care First Aid (CCFA). Do you offer that course?
In a word, no. CCFA is SFA-B, which is included in SFA-C. However, some employers request that you specifically have CCFA. Check with your employer if SFA-C is okay.
